Teachers Take Strike Instead Of Teaching Us!

Teachers went on strike yesterday to get a better pay. In total around 50,000 teachers went on strike and failed to turn up to school. That means around 750,000 students couldn't be taught. The government has offered 3 percent rise over the next 3 years due to low payments.

There might be another teachers strike according to the news but they shouldn't because they should be teaching.

New Phone Number For New Zealand Police

On Friday the 10th of May, there has been a announcement pronounced by the police. They said that they've changed their contact number to 105. They said the number 111 hasn't been replaced yet, that contact is for anyone who has emergencies.

My opinion is that they could've left as before because if they had changed it than I would've had a feeling that it would be difficult and confused for others but it isn't my choice it's their choice.

But remember if u want to dial the police - 105
If you have emergencies than dial - 111

Football Tournament ⚽

Yesterday we had a football tournament at Pt England Reserve. This year there was a year 7&8 girls team competing with the other girls from other schools. Liza and I were strikers and the rest were attackers and defenders. I had fun kicking the ball around and trying to get a goal for our team but especially eating 🀣.

I just want to thank my teammates for trying hard to make our team and our school happy. You girls did a really good job.

Prince William Comes To New Zealand!

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and Prince William had spent some time in Christchurch supporting families of the victims who died in mosque attack.

The second day of Prince Williams visit, Christchurch had met up with about 160 survivors and family members. He said that Christchurch and New Zealand's response to the shooting was an example to inspire the world.

My class and I had a talk about the mosque attack saying things like praying for the families and survivors who had been injured and had 2 minutes of silence.

It is important to love one another no matter what if you don't like someone because of their religion or their personality. We are all the same
SO THINK TWICE!

KiwiCan πŸ₯° πŸ™„

Image result for kiwicanToday Room 12 and I had the opportunity to have our first session with Kiwi Can.

Miss Tuia and Mrs Mac were with us today, and as we know they both work for the KiwiCan company.
Firstly they introduced themselves and explained 5 rules we should benefit from.
They were:
1. Respect others
2. Ask Questions
3. Listen to the speaker
4. Don't be shy give it a try
5. Have fun

They were also talking to us about what these 2 words mean (highlighted in bold down the bottom for you)

Our theme for this term is Integrity = Being honest and strong
Our Topic for this term is Honesty = Being truthful

Next we played 3 different games:
First was = Bang
Second was = Changing Places
Lastly was = GKQ = stands for General Knowledge Questions

I've really enjoyed my first session of KiwiCan and getting to know the 2 tutors that had come today. I hope they had fun with us and keep KiwiCan going at least for a year!
