Tennis 🎾
Last week Tuesday my class went for tennis with coach Pete. Before we started, we chose our partners, my partners were Liza and Konzay. We were learning how to use the racquets and we were also learning how to hit the ball back and forwards. I really had fun and learnt new things for the future purpose.

Room 9 Syndicate Assembly !
The day Room 9 did their Syndicate Assembly item was fun. The activity was about an animal story and some students had to make animal noises when their animal name was called out. We also sang two songs. One was a Maori song and the other was English. I really enjoyed that day. I hope they do another fun syndicate assembly.

Tongan Language week ! 🇹🇴
This week for Tongan language week, some of the year 7's and year 8's students in Room 12 brought their own creative, traditional and designed type of clothes. They wondered around some of the classes in our school and they talked about what their clothing was made out of. When I heard them talk about their clothing I learnt what they were made of and where they place them. I hope people everywhere enjoy Tongan language week and try to celebrate it.

Volleyball ! ðŸ˜
We did eliminations between 2 teams, a tournament between 4 teams, and last we did boy vs girls. It was fun and exciting for me because I had a turn to spike the ball at other people and I got to serve the ball over the net to the other team. I really had a fun day yesterday with Coach Rennae, I hope we see her in the future.❤
Poetry Recital
Two weeks ago, was Poetry Recital, the 5 students from my room that were performing was Jessica, Tupouseini, Tyron, Leanah and Saluselo.
They were actually good, they spoke clearly and loudly, they stood up still, they had good expression and they were looking at the audience so it looked like they are communicating with each other. I actually thought they were the best out of the school but everyone else tried their best.

Skipping Practising !!
For skipping practise I am in a group with Julianne, Ana, Joanlisi, Liza, Alexandra, Vika, Pupuke, Malia and also Leanah. I've been practising my part which is the push ups with the long rope, I can do about over 20 now but my other part of skipping is with Alexandra. We have to hold each others rope and we have to skip 5 times forward as well as 5 times backward. We also have some other students in our group doing double launders in the long rope, but I hope our display will entertain those watching.

Clay Modelling
Today I went to room 7 to do art with group 1. First we had to pick 2 of clay colours and I chose red and orange. We had to make a cup that had a handle on it, then we were allowed to make anything we wanted. If we were finished we had to show our teacher Mrs L-C so she could take a photo of what we did.

School Cross Country
When I started running around the school block I was tired but I had to breathe in my nose and out my mouth. When I ran to the finish line I started slowing down but then I started running again.
I was so happy because I came first out of the year 7 girls.

Kahurangi Show
On the first of August, on Wednesday there was a show called Kahurangi. It was fun and boring at the same time.
My favourite part was when they were telling stories and trying to be funny, when the girls were doing the poi dance.
I really enjoyed the show but, I hope we have those kind of shows again!

Powhiri
Last week Thursday we had a Powhiri with the whole school, it was quiet and exciting, we also sang some songs that were in Maori. Some teachers did a speech about their own personality and more. The most funny bit to me is that all the teachers and the principle had to hongi, but that day was pretty fun for me.

Making Hot Cakes With Mrs Tuipoloto !
After she finished explaining, we grabbed all our equipment and ingredients. Lini and I began to make it. When we finished getting it out of the oven we squirted some chocolate Hershey syrup on our hot cakes and then took a photo. I really enjoyed that day with Mrs Tuipoloto, I hope we do more of this next time.

Making Quiches with Mrs Tuipolotu
Then, we put all our ingredients in a bowl which were, eggs, milk, cheese, ham and pastry. We all followed Mrs Tuipolotu instructions on how to make it. After, we had to put it in the oven and let it bake for 15 mins. When it was baked I enjoyed eating it at home with the rest of my family.
Thank you Mrs Tuipolotu💕

Happy Birthday Miss Misela 💞
Happy birthday Miss Misela! 💙
I have always loved you as my teacher even if you would growl at me. 🤣 You are fun, funny and you make me smile every time I see you! You always make me laugh while we do fitness, you even make jokes about me but you are still my favourite teacher. I will love you from the day I leave this school and I will still remember you in my mind.
Love from: Mary-Ruth 💗

Hip Hop 2018
We were doing some really difficult stretches but at least I was warm. After that we were all warmed up, we had to learn some new moves to the song Lean and Dab by ILoveMemphis. At first it was really hard but when I kept on practising, it started to get easier.
I really enjoyed our session with Jess and I hope we stay with her longer.

Football
On Wednesday, some of our Ruapotaka students went to P.t England Reserve to play Soccer.
I was in the Year 7&8's team.
When we had began playing we were trying our best to score a goal against other schools, the same as our year 5&6's team. While we were playing Glen Taylor, many of their students were rolling their eyes at us! That made me very frustrated. They were mostly talking about how we tried our best, but in a bad way. I just ignored them because I thought we did well.
At the end of soccer tournament we came equally last so, I was kind of upset but I hope our next soccer team does a great job in the future.
I enjoyed my day but, I was tired.

About Me 🥰
When school started I just found out that I'm a year 7 intermediate student, which makes me a senior at school. Before I started back to school, I thought to myself that a year 7 would be more harder, but it is quite easy. I also got along with two new students at school which was Storm and Robin. Also another thing at school is sometimes the year 7s and me get disconcerted because sometimes we don't listen, but it's alright because the year 8 students can help us get through with it. My favourite thing about being in Room12 is to play with my friends and do sports, but the worst thing in 2018 I don't like to do is work everyday.
Another thing I like to do in 2018 is tournaments so I don't have to work at school. When I come to school I always feel awful because I get growled at by teachers mostly, and from my teacher sometimes. I hope this year in 2018 I earn a good report and receive a better mark.

Going to the River talks
Yesterday we went to the River talks and I learned something new. I learned that if we chuck or leave rubbish in our community or properties then the river will get dirty and that will not be helpful.
We also learned about plants, how they grow and how they live in nature, also arts. When you put rubbish in the river it becomes dirty.
Now coming to the best thing that Iv'e seen is the Cook Island dance. It was my favourite part because they showed confidence, respect, and did their best.
I hope you enjoy the river when you go to Pt. England reserve.

Mr Grundy's Metal Work
Today I attended Mr Grundy's Metal work with Mr Grundy with some of the St Pius students. We all first started with a google doc that had come through my mail sent by Mr Grundy, and our instruction was to write about 4 people and what they like. Then we presented a metal necklace to them.

Room 10 Syndicate Assembly
On Monday the 26th of February, Room 10 hosted a syndicate assembly. We listened to some students speak aloud in front of us which was quite boring because they were talking about notices, handing out certificates and other stuff. After that they had a dance battle competition which was my favourite part because the contestants were funny and I love to dance.
At first it was two students from Room 10 and two from Room 9, they were dancing to kriss kross which was pretty funny because Elemoni was doing silly dances. It was time for the teachers to vote and Room 10 won round 1.
After a while Room 10 students, and Room 12 students were dancing to Pump It. It made me laugh a lot because of Pupuke and Elemoni. They were making me laugh because they were doing cowboy dances. After round 2 the teachers voted. After the votes were counted up it turned out that Room 10 had won the competition, because their dances had earned most of the votes from the teachers.
